TOKYO – March 13, 2019 – LINE Pay Corporation, operator of smartphone digital wallet service LINE Pay (http://line.me/pay) available on the LINE messaging app, announces the launch of the Super Pay-Toku Spring Fest beginning March 15 and running until March 31, 2019. By making purchases with LINE Pay during the campaign period, users will receive a 20% reward on every purchase in addition to a raffle ticket for a chance to win up to an equivalent of JPY 2,000.

 

Since June 2018, LINE Pay has offered Pay-Toku campaigns at the end of each month to reward all LINE Pay purchases made at participating merchants. At a time when public enthusiasm for cashless payment is on the rise, the Pay-Toku initiative is aimed at encouraging users to try LINE Pay as a new payment method in the hopes that it will become the new de facto payment standard in the users' daily lives. Until now, the Pay-Toku campaign rewarded 10% – 20% of the purchase amount for the following three LINE Pay payment methods: code (QR/barcode) payments, payments at online merchants, and payments through the Scan Bill feature. In December 2018, a special Pay-Toku Year-End Campaign was offered to reward 20% of the purchase amount to users, which was received extremely favorably.

 

As April marks the start of the new school/fiscal year, this is the perfect time to replace daily items or start something new. LINE Pay proudly presents Super Pay-Toku Spring Fest to support this consumer sentiment. This is LINE Pay's largest-ever reward campaign aimed at encouraging those who have never used cashless payments or LINE Pay before to give it a try.

Aside from the above three payment methods, all major LINE Pay payment methods used during the campaign period will count towards the Super Pay-Toku Spring Fest, where 20% of the purchase amount will be rewarded back to the user. 

This means that the use of LINE Pay Cards at JCB merchants and QUICPay+TM on Android devices are also applicable for this campaign, which greatly expands the number of locations where users can shop and redeem rewards. 

For example, users can make purchases at nationwide convenience stores using a LINE Pay Card, code payment, or QUICPay+ TM. Payment with a LINE Pay Card also allows users to shop at supermarkets and department stores that do not accept code payments, and still have their purchases count toward this campaign. This includes visits to hotels and theme parks or purchases at home electronic stores for new appliances and furniture to start the new school/fiscal year. 

Multiple purchases will be applied until the reward amount reaches JPY 5,000 during the campaign period*.

*Excludes certain merchants and products.

 

To enter this campaign, simply use LINE Pay to make purchases during the campaign period. No additional signup is necessary. In addition to the Super Pay-Toku Spring Fest, all purchases can also be applied to My Level point incentives and the code payment 3% additional rewards campaign that runs through until the end of July 2019.

 

With the Super Pay-Toku Spring Fest, users can enjoy double rewards with raffle tickets for a chance to win up to an equivalent of JPY 2,000 on LINE Pay purchases during the campaign period. In addition to conveying the "easy, convenient and great deal" values of cashless payment, LINE Pay will continue to offer a variety of incentive programs that also bring "exciting and fun" emotional values that are often associated with the LINE app.

Campaign content: Receive a raffle ticket on LINE Pay purchases over JPY 100 during the campaign period for a chance to win up to an equivalent of JPY 2,000

Notes regarding Super Pay-Toku Spring Fest

1. 20% reward on every purchase

- Code payment applies to both of the following cases: 1) User displays QR/barcode or 2) User scans QR/barcode shown at storefront

- If LINE Points or store coupons are used for the purchase, the actual price paid (after discount) will apply towards the campaign.

- Excludes certain products (alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, books, etc.), tax payments, and certain stores.

- Rewards will be added to the user's LINE Pay balance at or around May 31, 2019.

 

2. Raffle tickets

- Minimum payment amount to receive a raffle ticket is JPY 100. 

- If payment is canceled, the amount added to user's LINE Pay balance will also be canceled.

- Raffle results: win an equivalent of JPY 10 – 2,000, or "Try again." The amount won will be instantly added to the user's LINE Pay balance.

- Unopened raffle tickets will be void after April 16.
