Tokyo, Japan – January 22, 2014 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, today announced the release of LINE Party Run, a free running action game for iPhone and Android, available through its LINE GAME service. 

LINE Party Run is an endless runner game featuring Cony, Brown, James, Moon, and many other popular LINE characters. Players take control of their favorite characters and chase the wicked Boss, who has stolen all the lottery prizes. This is the 7th game to feature the LINE Characters, after LINE Pop, LINE Hidden Catch, LINE Bubble, LINE Jelly, LINE Quiz, and LINE Dozer. 

Players must jump over enemies and avoid pitfalls while collecting items. The game ends when the character falls down a hole, or the HP in the top left of the screen is gone. HP depletes as the characters run, or if they hit an enemy, but players can keep their HP topped up by collecting revitalizing Cups. 

There are eight player characters in fancy dress to choose from, each with their own special skills, including four types of Cony, such as the laser gun-toting Pink Cony, and Maid Cony with her special shield, and four types of Brown, including Delivery Man Brown, who scores more points when he hits enemies, and Rocker Brown, who takes less damage from collisions. Sally is there as well. There are 19 different types of Sally pets, all of which add a different ability. Moon and James characters will be added later.

There are plenty of things to further liven up the action, including items such as one that turns the player character into an invincible giant. Collecting the candy scattered around the stages is another way to rack up points, and other LINE characters will appear as rival runners mid-game. Overtaking and stomping on one of these will replenish some much needed HP.

There are also letters of the alphabet to be found at various points. Collecting five letters triggers a bonus mode where the scores really pile up.

The Gold and Rubies players need to purchase new characters or upgrade existing ones can be acquired mid-game, or though completing the various missions that pop up every day.

There are plenty of the social features that players have come to expect from LINE games, such as rankings, friend invitations, and Friendship Points that can be exchanged for items.
